TLDSB and Archie Stouffer Elementary School will be honouring the 215 Indigenous Children whose lives were lost at a Kamloops Residential School by participating in Orange Shirt Day on Monday May 31, 2021. Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters is an event that recognizes the survivors of residential schools – and acknowledges those who did not. Trillium Lakelands District School Board is committed to advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. Everyone in TLDSB is asked to get involved in honouring all those who attended residential schools by wearing an orange shirt on Monday, May 31st. The flag at our school is lowered Monday and will remain lowered to honour the 215 lives taken at the former residential school in British Columbia.
